Ed Johnson Falsely Convicted

Ed Johnson First African American To Be Falsey Convicted
 On March 19, 1906, An African American man named Ed Johnson is being wrongly convicted of raping a Caucasian woman named  Nevada Taylor in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The rape was taking to trail.  On January 23, 1906, Nevada Taylor was attacked walking home from work and an unknown person was walking up behind her, the person took her purse and strangled her with the strap. Nevada Taylor stated it was a negro man wearing a dark coat. She told her father what happens when she went into the house.  The rape crime was reported to the jail and the captain went to go look for the witnesses. During the search, nobody could find the rapist. (The audience already knows what happens is going happen there are going to find a random black man to falsely convicted and kill him.) During the incident, Captain Ship had reported if anybody has any information and identify the person will be awarded $300.00. A few days later they identified a black man age 19 named  Ed Johnson and he was arrested taking to Nashville.
