Mississippi Richest to Rags ( Cotton Trade)

Mississippi from riches to rags

After Andrew Johnson started the Indian Removal Act and Dancing Rabbit Creek and the Government took over The Chickasaw and Choctaws land, Mississippi River demanded them to go out West and decided to take away their culture.  By the state removing the  Native Americans, that gave Mississippi the rights to millions of the Missississipp's land.  That gave the right to bring in slaves labor, trades and form plantations.  The land that the state owns now started to produce cotton, sugar cane, tobacco, and rice.  As the slave labor and trade continued to grow  According to New World Encyclopedia-Mississippi, Mississippi became the fifth richest state in the United States.  Even though they were trading other products across the world. Cotton became the number one trade across the world. In the 1820s and 1830s. Mississippi had produced between twenty million to seventy million pounds of cotton until 1839 cotton increase to 535 million pounds that's when the slave trade started to rise. Readers know what that means: more money and labor. Before the Civil War (1860) 437,000 black who are put into slavery was unpaid. Black is considered property and not citizens at the time. The way they had black working and paying them little to none cotton became the richest crop in the United States if it was not for the Blacks. Missississippi had created millionaires due to having Blacks dying over cotton in a plantation. Cotton in a Global Economy: Mississippi the cotton production had grown from 0 to 535.1 million pounds from 1800 to 1860.  During the whole trade, New York had played a big part because the people did not care about the blacks being slavery but cared about the cotton trade. The state is receiving 40 percent of the cotton since the state deals with the shipping, insurance, and finances of the cotton New. With the help of New York, Missississippi brought in two hundred million dollars a year. So Mississippi was not doing this by themselves they had help with especially with Great Britain had a big impact because Great Britain was the most powerful country at the time and over 21 million people were depending on the cotton.  75 percent of cotton came from American just to help with the cotton mills and the cotton handpicked also. Great Britain is making sure they are getting the cut also. I am going to end it right here and come back with a part two.
